A character player by Jess Martin
Smoked cigarettes by the carton
On day he was low
And flipped off Briscoe
All on the day he was startin'

A uniform handed him a unlitten fag
Gratefully he sighed and took a long drag
He said to his workmate,
"I'm not usually this irate"
Replied Lennie, "Shouldah heard my wives nag!"

The older partner said, "Hey follow me"
"My boss says you're a fan of Mohammed Ali"
"I could talk fight"
"With you all damn night"
"But now we've got a crime scene to see"

The tall coloured man straightened up,
"I hope you don't think I'm a young pup"
"They've called me Willy the Wild"
"Since I was a child"
"And in the Academy you should've seen who I've whupped"

"Whoa," said Lennie, "I've had a partner like you,"
"And I'll tell you now what he never knew,"
"Don't throw a punch"
"And I have a hunch"
"That they won't demote you back to the five-two"

"I hated it there, a crime every day"
"Mobsters and gangsters blew Johnny away"
The older cop coughed,
"Your partner, they offed?"
"Yeah," he replied, "Then they dealed with the DA"

A sargent called to thw two,
"Which one is Willy Sandew?"
"I am," said Will,
"Hey, who'd I kill"
The sarge laughed, "The phone-it's for you!"

He swaggered and picked up the cell,
Listened then said, "Len, it's my belle,"
"No sweetie I can't"
And hearing her pant,
Missed the curb and clumsily fell.

He dropped the phone and told the senior detective,
"I think my darling feels that I'm defective,"
"You and I," Lennie said,
"Weren't meant to wed,"
Willy groaned, "But with her it's not elective!"

Lennie then grinned in glee and looked down the street,
A hotdog vendor seen him and stopped right at their feet,
Lennie asked, "You in?"
Will replied, "It's a sin"
"At least in my mind anyways, if I were to taste of that meat"

"Hitler was a vegetarian," Lennie smiled taking a bite,
"But a hotdog with mustard, that tastes just right"
Lennie then bought an ice,
Will asked, "Where's the rice"
And his parner wondered when the kid would see the light.

A partnership that is meant to last,
At least, until Wolffie shuffles the cast
And hey M'sy!
Just a note from me
This is revenge for all the limericks that you sassed!!!
